Report by Daniel Mortlock:
FAS seemed to have done well in the first innings, having bowled out Fladbury for 116. Our opening attack of Mike Wilson (1/30) and D. Thornton (3/43) did well enough; the change bowlers then did even better, M. Graham and Nick Houlder both finishing with tidy figures of 2/20.
Our chase started a bit more slowly than we'd have hoped - we didn't make it to double figures until the 12th over - and by the time we were 28/3 in the 20th over it was back to being a 50/50 game. From that point, however, we endured one of our worst collapses, losing our last 7 wickets for just 23 runs across 20 torturous overs. Some of numbers beggar belief: of the 39 overs the Fladbury attack completed, 19 were maidens; and the last 52 balls of our innings comprised 47 dots, four wickets and a solitary scoring stroke (a two). In the end we didn't even get half way to our target, losing by 65 runs.
