Report by Daniel Mortlock:
Playing an unusual limited overs format in which both sides got 47 (not 46, not 48) overs, we batted first and made a decent total of 202/6, thanks primarily to Jameses Scott (59) and Streeter (41*), with good support from non-James Harry Stevens (29*).
While we made steady inroads into the Bunnies' top order, they kept scoring well, and with 10 overs remaining needed just 30 to win - albeit with just 4 wickets in hand. Joss Dare (0/26 from 8 overs) and Big Jim (1/22 from 5 overs) kept us in the game, taking the game to the final over, with the Bunnies on 199/8: they needed three to win or four to tie, with Balders and our own Joe White at the crease; we needed two wickets. There was no question about who was going to try to get them, Cliff Dare (5/52 at this point) taking the ball for his 19th over of the day. He conceded just two singles off the first five balls, after which the batters had no choice but to run on anything for the tie . . . which they couldn't manage, Joe being run out off the final ball to leave FAS victors by a solitary run for just the fourth time ever (although, weirdly, the second time this week after sneaking the same result against Mid-Notts FAS yesterday).
