Fathers And Sons vs. Temple Grafton

Monday, July 16, 2007
Temple Grafton

Fathers And Sons (209/5 in 42 6-ball overs)
defeated
Temple Grafton (100 all out in 29.1 6-ball overs)
by 109 runs.

Report by Daniel Mortlock

Batting first, the FAS top order had a pretty comfortable time of it as Will T-B (41), Joss Dare (58) and James Houlder (75) all made substantial scores. That said, James's innings was a comparative failure, his last four FAS innings being 106*, 62*, 102* and 65*; so, immediately prior to his dismissal today, he'd scored 410 runs undismissed, comfortably the club record (not that anybody knew this at the time).

Temple Grafton didn't get close to our total, as first the legal firm of White & Wyatt dealt with the top order with spells of 3/24 and 1/19, respectively. Sasha Barras (2/31) and Harry Houlder (2/9) were similarly successful, although the knock-on effect of this was that when George Houghton (1/0) took a wicket with his first ball that ended the game (and meant George became the third FAS player to finish with the "perfect" bowling figures of 0.1 overs, 0 maidens, 1/0).
