While formally this game never made it beyond "TBC" status, both FAS and Newenden got as far as trying to get teams together - we made up to nine players at one point, albeit mostly with travel-related caveats along the lines of "I will do my best to get down for 5pm, but early won't be possible realistically" and "Can’t make 5pm, but if we ask to bat first?". In the end it was probably just as well that Newenden had been even less successful in recruiting a side, and it was with some relief that we received their organiser's message that "I can't seem to get much interest in the Friday game."
